Sky Sports News are reporting that Aston Villa’s loan star Tammy Abraham was not at training on Monday morning, amid links with a move to Premier League side Wolves.
Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham reportedly missed training on Monday morning, sparking rumours that he is close to ending his loan spell at Villa Park early to join Premier League side Wolves.
It has been widely reported that Wolves are pursuing a permanent deal for the striker, rumoured to be for a fee of £18 million. However, Sky Sports state that Wolves and Chelsea are in “advanced talks” over a deal which would see the England youngster move to Molineux on loan for the rest of the season.
It is unknown whether the loan deal would see Abraham join Wolves on a permanent basis at the end of the loan spell.
Abraham has been in electric form for Dean Smith’s side throughout the first half of the season, leading Villa’s resurgence after Steve Bruce’s sacking. The Chelsea youngster has scored an impressive 16 goals in 20 appearances so far this season, helping Villa rise to 10th place and just five points behind Derby County, who sit in 6th place.
Reports have been circulating in the run up to and throughout the January transfer window, with Abraham catching the eye of Premier League sides after an impressive spell with Aston Villa.
Wolves, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United have all been linked with moves for Abraham, but Wolves seem to be leading the pack in the chase for the 21-year-old.
The England youngster could yet remain at Aston Villa to see out the remainder of his loan spell under Dean Smith, but the temptation of Premier League football could see Abraham return to the top tier earlier than expected.
