Reading put Mannone, McShane, Meyler and McNulty on the transfer list

Reading have put Vito Mannone, Paul McShane, David Meyler and Marc McNulty on the transfer list, according to the Reading Chronicle.

Their new boss, Jose Gomes, is looking to drastically reduce the size of his squad and move players on this month.

The Royals believe they need to change things this month with the club currently in the bottom three in the Championship. They are also looking to bring some more players in to try and stay up. Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria is set to join them, as reported by The72 earlier today.

There will be more outgoings than incomings at the Madejski Stadium over the coming weeks. They are keen to offload goalkeeper Vito Mannone. The experienced shot stopper has fallen out of favour and Reading want him off their wage bill.

Paul McShane could also depart. The 33-year-old is currently in his fourth season with the Royals but is out of contract at the end of the season meaning they want to cash in on him now to avoid losing him for nothing in the summer.

David Meyler only joined Reading in the summer but is another who has been told he can find another club. The same goes for striker Marc McNulty. He has scored just once in 15 games since joining from Coventry City.

Reading have today sold midfielder Dave Edwards to League One side Shrewsbury Town. It appears very likely more will be following out of the exit door.
