Goals from Sam Surridge and Callum Lang send League Two Oldham Athletic into the FA Cup fourth round as they knock out Premier League Fulham.

Pete Wild’s starting eleven consisted of Iversen, Hamer, Clarke ©, Edmundson, Nepomuceno, Lang, Lyden, Missilou, Branger-Engone, Maouche, O’Grady.

Fulham had the first shot of the game as Maxime Le Marchand crossed in from the left with Floyd Ayite at the back post, but he headed wide.

Latics created an opportunity as Callum Lang’s cross was cleared as far as midfielder Jordan Lyden, but he could only volley over from the edge of the box.

Marcus Bettinelli was then called into action when experienced striker Chris O’Grady’s deflected shot almost went in at the far post, but the goalkeeper got down to stop it.

Gevaro Nepomuceno went down the left wing and found Chris O’Grady in the middle of the box with a low ball in, but his shot was deflected towards goal with Marcus Bettinelli able to save.

Half-Time – Fulham 0-0 Oldham Athletic 

Fulham took the lead early on in the second half as Kebano’s cross was only cleared as far as Odoi who volleyed home (1-0).

Sam Surridge forced a decent save from Bettinelli who saved it onto the post, from the resulting corner Mohammed Maouche found Club Captain Peter Clarke, but header cleared off the line.

Peter Clarke was then brought down in the box by Ryan Sessegnon, and Anthony Taylor pointed to the penalty spot.

Latics top goalscorer Sam Surridge stepped up and smashed it into the bottom left-hand corner to send the Latics into chaos (1-1).

Fulham were awarded a penalty of their own moments laster as Christopher Missilou fouled Tom Cairney in the box, with the help of VAR to give the decision.

Aleksandar Mitrović had just been brought onto the past and his first contribution was to take the penalty, but it was brilliantly saved by Daniel Iversen diving to his left.

In the 88th minute, Gevaro Nepomuceno crossed into Callum Lang who header downwards to beat Marcus Bettinelli in the Fulham goal and send Oldham Athletic into the fourth round of the FA Cup (1-2).
