Birmingham City keen on former Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers winger

Birmingham City are keen on Norwich City winger Ben Marshall, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

The Blues are looking into a loan deal for the 27-year-old as they aim to bolster their squad in this January transfer window.

Marshall, who only joined Norwich in the summer, has had an injury-hit season so far and has made just five appearances for Daniel Farke’s side. Therefore, they are expected to loan him out for him to regain his fitness and get more minutes under his belt.

The winger spent the latter half of last season on loan at Championship side Millwall from Wolves and impressed for the Lions. His performances for Neil Harris’ men earned him a move to Carrow Road but it appears he’ll have to be on the move again to rekindle his career.

Marshall is vastly experienced at this level and has racked up over 300 appearances. He started out with spells as a youngster at Manchester United and Crewe Alexandra before he was picked up by Stoke City.

He never made a senior appearance for the Potters but enjoyed loan spells at Northampton Town, Carlisle United, Cheltenham Town and Sheffield Wednesday before moving onto Leicester City in 2011. Spells at Blackburn, Wolves, Millwall and now Norwich have followed.

Birmingham looks likely to be Marshall’s next destination and Garry Monk’s men will be hoping they can land him this month.
