Former MK Dons and Celtic midfielder joins Tangerines on short term deal

Former MK Dons and Celtic attacking midfielder Aidan Nesbitt has joined Ladbrokes Championship club Dundee United on a free transfer according to the club’s official website.

The 21-year-old Scot left Sky Bet League Two promotion chasers MK Dons in midweek after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract at Stadium MK and has now signed on at Tannadice until the end of the season.

Dundee United boss Robbie Neilson is thought to have long been a fan of the youngster and has moved quickly to secure his services.

Nesbitt came through the youth ranks at Celtic but made just one appearance for the club as a substitute in a League Cup tie back in 2015. The midfielder won the Scottish FA Youth Cup while at Celtic Park and was named the club’s Academy Player of the Year but he never reached the same heights as a senior player.

In August 2017, Nesbitt joined MK Dons for an undisclosed fee with the player signing a two-year deal at Stadium MK. The midfielder bagged four goals in 25 appearances for The Dons last term but struggled to impress new boss Paul Tisdale this season prior to his recent exit.

Nesbitt could make his Dundee United debut against Partick Thistle at Tannadice on Saturday.
