Wigan youngster Callum Lang is set to return to Oldham Athletic on loan for the rest of the season, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Wigan youngster Callum Lang is set to return to League Two side Oldham Athletic on loan for the rest of the season, after impressive start to the season.
Alan Nixon tweeted: “OLDHAM. Lang will return from WIGAN. Keep playing and progressing on loan.”
Callum Lang has been very impressive for the real Latics this season. He has made 26 appearances in all competitions and he has scored six goals, with one assist.
Callum Lang took the headlines in the Emirates FA Cup against Hampton & Richmond for Latics. He scored in the 94th minute to seal Oldham Athletic a 2-1 away victory over Hampton and Richmond Borough in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup.
Before joining Latics, Callum Lang already had experience in League Two during the 2017/18 season whilst on loan at Morecambe FC.
After scoring 5 goals in 5 appearances in December 2017, Lang was voted EFL Young Player of the Month.
The promising youngster netted 10 goals in 30 appearances as he helped Morecambe FC avoid relegation last season.
Callum Lang is yet to break into Wigan’s first team, but has made a great impression at youth team level. He had a successful season for the Under 18s in 2016-17, and he notched a hat-trick in the Central League Cup final in April. The round the season off he won the Michael Millett Award as the Under 18s Player of The Season.
