West Brom and Preston chasing prolific League Two attacker

West Brom have reportedly made an approach for CJ Hamilton according to Football Insider.

CJ Hamilton is currently playing for League Two side Mansfield. He is enjoying an outstanding campaign to date with six goals and seven assists. The 23 year old has been touted as one of the brightest prospects in the EFL.

Hamilton has chipped in, being involved in thirteen goals. Scoring six and making a further seven. That involvement has helped the club rise up the table and inject some fire in their promotion bid.

The performances of the young Mansfield attacker have not gone unnoticed by the bigger clubs.

West Brom are not the only Championship club interested. Preston have already had a bid of £750,000 turned down, it is not known weather the Lancashire outfit will return with another bid.

Baggies boss, Darren Moore is eager to add to his attacking options at the Hawthornes to maintain the clubs promotion bid to Premier League at the first time of asking. Moore’s side have already scored a league high of 54 goals this season. Should the club get the deal for Hamilton over the line it could be the final piece of the puzzle that gets Moore’s side over the line come May.

Preston are also interested and are rumoured to have had a bid rejected already. Preston have been active in this window already with the singing of Jayden Stockley from Exeter. Alex Neil is keen to add to his squad after a slow start to the Championship season.

Mansfield will try and prevent Hamilton from leaving until the summer as they look to win promotion from League Two this season.
