”Ginger Pele” – Forest fans react as Jack Colback’s brace helps the Reds defeat Leeds United

Aitor Karanka’s Nottingham Forest side moved within four points of the top six with an impressive victory over table-toppers Leeds United, who remain two points ahead of Norwich in first place. Here’s how the Forest faithful reacted:

Jack Colback’s early goal ensured a dream start for Karanka’s side, with his effort after six minutes going past Bailey Peacock-Farrell in the Leeds goal, they were understandably pleased.

Despite heavy Leeds pressure they were unable to break down the Forest rearguard, and their first-half misery was compounded when Kalvin Phillips received his marching orders for a poor tackle on Adlene Guedioura.

Oftentimes, the roder of the day if you’re a Leeds fan is coming from behind to win, and a goal from wonderkid Jack Clarke ensured they had a real chance of doing so. Costel Pantilimon was public enemy no.1.

Egzjan Alioski’s goal put the Whites in front and this time the fans were a little more blunt in their assessments, with some questioning Karanka’s future at the City Ground.

Colback smashed in his second of the game only five minutes later, something of a rarity with the ex-Newcastle man bagging his brace. Some slight exaggeration here.

It was that man Murphy, man of the match, who put Forest in front for the first time since Colback’s early strike, with only 18 minutes to go, Forest had a lead to hold on to. There were some questionable reactions.

Three became four, five minutes later, to put them within points of sixth. Local lad Ben Osborn’s stunning solo strike put the game beyond doubt with 13 minutes left on the club, they loved it.
