Earlier today it was announced, and written about here on The72, that Mallik Wilks had signed a new deal at Leeds United, extending his time at the club until June 2022.

It was something that had been mooted over the festive period, with Doncaster Rovers manager Grant McCann saying he expected it done either yesterday, or by Wednesday at the latest.

It is of course at South Yorkshire club Doncaster Rovers where Wilks has been making a name for himself this season, scoring seven League One goals and adding four assists.

Obviously the youngster is over-the-moon at extending his time at Leeds United, the Whites looking to push hard over the 2019 part of their campaign and aim for Premier League promotion.

Here’s the young striker’s reaction to signing his new deal and extending his time at Elland Road:

In that tweet, Wilks not only expresses his absolute joy at signing a new deal at Elland Road, but also how happy he is to get back down to business in an extended stay at the Keepmoat with Doncaster Rovers.

It is, of course, a post to social media that was bound to gain some reaction from Leeds United fans. Here’s what some of them have had to say.

The dual nature of his happiness is also not wasted on Doncaster Rovers fans, some of whom have also commented.
