Peterborough United and Luton Town eyeing up move for Bradford City star man

Peterborough United and Luton Town are eyeing up move for Bradford City star man Jack Payne on loan from Huddersfield Town, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Promotion chasing Peterborough United and Luton Town are eyeing up move for Bradford City star man Jack Payne on loan from Premiership side Huddersfield Town.

Jack Payne made history at Southend United  in 2015/16, becoming the first player in the Club’s history to win the Shrimpers Trust Player of the Season, Junior Blues Player of the Season and Goal of the Season prizes at the conclusion of the campaign.

That season ended in promotion to Sky Bet League 1 for Southend United, with Jack playing in the Play-Off Final and stepping up to score a penalty in the deciding shootout against Wycombe Wanderers.

Jack Payne began last season on loan at Oxford United before being recalled in January and subsequently joining Blackburn Rovers, collecting 10 assists and four goals in Sky Bet League 1 action for both sides.

According to Telegraph and Argus, Jack Payne wants to stay at Bradford City. David Hopkin, manager of Bradford City, said: “I’ve not heard anything about Jack yet.”

“I spoke to Jack and I spoke to his representatives. As far as I’m aware Jack wants to stay here and he is loving playing football here.”

“The difficulty we do have is that he’s not our player.”

“He’s intimated to me that he wants to stay, we want him to stay but obviously he’s a Huddersfield player.”

“These things will sort themselves out. It’s something we’ll have to deal with and over the next few weeks we’ll see what happens.”
