Five potential managers to replace Frankie Bunn at Oldham Athletic –

Darrell Clarke – It would be a massive coup if Oldham Athletic appointed Darrell Clarke as manager. Whilst at Bristol Rovers, Darrell Clarke was one of the longer-serving managers in the EFL, he joined the club in March 2014 after some impressive results with non-league side Salisbury. Darrell Clarke guided Bristol Rovers to consecutive promotions and stabilised the club in the third tier. He developed some fine talents during his spell as manager which includes Billy Bodin, Matty Taylor and Lee Brown. Not to forget the talent he brought through the Bristol Rovers youth ranks such as Ellis Harrison, Tom Lockyer and Ollie Clarke.

Gary Bowyer – Gary Bowyer performed exceptionally during a two-year reign at Bloomfield Road with Blackpool. Bowyer led the Seasiders to promotion from League Two in 2016-17 and achieved a top-half finish on their return to the third tier.

Darren Ferguson – Darren Ferguson left Doncaster Rovers in the summer after nearly three seasons in charge of the club and finished 15th-place last season. He secured the club automatic promotion from League Two in May 2017. Before coming Doncaster Rovers manager, he enjoyed three promotions during his two spells as Peterborough boss, including two to the Championship.

Kevin Nolan – Kevin Nolan departed Notts County earlier this season, he took charge of the Magpies in January 2017 and led them to the League Two play-offs last season. In addition, he won the EFL League Two Manager of the Month award, the first honour of his managerial career last season.

Paul Hurst – Paul Hurst managed to guide Shrewsbury Town from relegation favourites at the start of the 2017/18 season to the club’s highest League position in 27 years. To add to this, he gained promotion as a manager at Ilkeston Town and Boston in non-League, before guiding Grimsby back into the Football League after a six year absence in 2016.
