Spurs hunt Norwich full-back in mega-money deal

Despite only making his senior debut in the East Anglian derby back in August, Max Aarons has been turning heads in the Championship and it would seem further afield as well, with Tottenham Hotspur plotting a £15million deal, report the Daily Mail via The Sun.

Spurs currently count Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters as their options for a right-back slot, while Ben Davies and Danny Rose fight it out on the opposite side, a position Aarons has occupied on a couple of occasions.

The Championship promotion-chasers could see Aarons as a sellable asset, similarly to James Maddison last summer, but impending promotion could see Daniel Farke keep hold of the prized youngster.

The deal would likely be a permanent one, with the 18 year-old heading back to Carrow Road on a temporary basis to help his side reach the Premier League for the first time since 2015/16.

However it isn’t just English sides who are monitoring the progress of the player. German side RB Leipzig are also in the running, with Aarons potentially being the second member of the family to play abroad, after cousin Rolando featured for Hellas Verona and Slovan Liberec.

The success of young English players could turn the head of Aarons, with Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson amongst others, reaping the benefits of moving to the Bundesliga.

His form has seen him displace long-time incumbent Ivo Pinto as well as gain international recognition with the England under-19 side.

Norwich face Derby County on the weekend, as they look to keep the pressure on Leeds United at the top.
