Middlesbrough want loan deal for Huddersfield Town winger

Middlesbrough are wanting a loan deal for Huddersfield Town winger Rajiv van La Parra, according to Sky Sports.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Boro and their fellow Championship side Leeds United over the past week.

Van La Parra is likely to leave Huddersfield in the January transfer window for more first-team chances. He has fallen down the pecking with the Terriers in the Premier League and has made just five appearances this season.

Boro boss Tony Pulis is keen to bring in another winger to help fill the gap left by Adama Traore’s departure to Wolves in the summer and van La Parra fits the bill.

The Dutchman has got bags of experience in the Championship and knows what it takes to get promotion from this division. Middlesbrough are currently 4th in the league and eight points off the automatic promotion places.

Van La Parra started his career with Feyenoord but never made a senior appearance for the Dutch giants as he moved to French side Caen in 2008 as a youngster. He went onto play 17 times for them and was part of their side who won promotion to Ligue 1 in 2010.

He then made the move back to Holland to join Heerenveen and spent three seasons in the Eredivisie prior to his move to England with Wolves in 2014. Van La Parra played 57 times for the Midlands side before loan spells at Brighton and Hove Albion and Huddersfield.

The Terriers made his move permanent in 2016 and he helped them get promoted to the Premier League in his first full season at the club. Could he now help Boro get up there?
