Nottingham Forest to feel Premier League sting in £10m star hunt

According to TEAMtalk, Nottingham Forest are going to have their resolve tested by Bournemouth with a £10m bid for star midfielder Joe Lolley.

The right-sided winger joined Forest from Premier League Huddersfield Town on the January transfer deadline day for an undisclosed fee. However, his displays for Forest have alerted the Cherries who are looking to pick him up in January.

TEAMtalk say that, due to the loss of star midfielder Lewis Cook, Bournemouth are looking for a replacement and that Lolley fits the bill. They say that the Redditch-born midfielder “could help bolster their ranks and Bournemouth are ready to offer Forest £10million.

Lolley’s contribution to the Nottingham Forest cause this season cannot be underestimated. Forest lie in 7th place in the table, just one win and four goals outside of the Championship play-off picture. Lolley has helped fire them there with six goals and seven assists this season.

Whilst the bulk of Lolley’s experience (112 appearances) has been in the Sky Bet Championship, the 26-year-old does have six Premier League appearances (one goal) under his belt. Obviously Bournemouth think that he can do a job for them, hence their interest.

Even with Forest challenging to hit the play-offs, a £10m bid for Lolley would definitely test their resolve. This sizeable amount would allow them to scour the January market looking for a replacement.

Aitor Karanka’s side have two festive away games against 2nd place Norwich City and Millwall as they look to make further inroads towards the play-offs.
