Wolves lining up “substantial offer” for Derby County prodigy

Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly preparing to make a “substantial offer” for Derby County’s versatile prodigy Louie Sibley.

According to the Sunday People (via the Derby Telegraph), Premier League side Wolves are lining up a move for Derby County’s highly rated midfielder Louie Sibley.

The versatile midfielder has been catching the eye of scouts in the Premier League 2 in the first half of this season, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves could be the first side to make a move for the England youngster.

Sibley has mainly been featuring in the middle of the park for Derby County’s Under-23s side, but he can also play at left-back if needs be. He has been catching the eye in the midfield in the first half of the season, and Wolves are “on the trail” of the starlet.

The 17-year-old has played nine games for The Rams in the Premier League 2 so far this season, scoring an impressive four goals, including a brace in a 5-0 demolition of Arsenal.

The young midfielder has also represented the Young Lions on several occasions, playing for the England Under-17s side on eight occasions since his debut against Scotland’s Under-17s.

Wolves are keen to bring the youngster to Molineux in the January transfer window. They reportedly had scouts watching the youngster in Thursday night’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, where Sibley scored The Rams’ only goal.

The arrival of Sibley would add to Wolves’ already promising arsenal of midfielders, potentially joined fellow English midfield prodigy Morgan Gibbs-White at Molineux.
