Middlesbrough fans react to important win over Reading

Middlesbrough got back to winning ways as they triumphed 1-0 over Reading at the Madejski Stadium, thanks to a George Friend goal in the 77th minute of the game.

Middlesbrough fans have given a mixed reception to the result and performance, with many still dissatisfied with the club, manager and players.

This Boro supporter wasn’t impressed with the game, and called for manager Tony Pulis to be sacked from the club.

However, despite the manner of the victory, other Boro fans were just happy to come away from the game with all three points given their recent struggles. Before the Reading fixture, Middlesbrough had not won in four games in the league, and had just been knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the Quarter-final stage to League One Burton Albion.

This supporter knew that the win was more important than the performance today, and hopes that this could turn the club’s fortunes around.

Another supporter saw the importance of the win and enjoyed the manner in which Boro won. But, he says that his side does need to improve if they are to be promoted come the end of the season.

Middlesbrough’s home form is where they have struggled of late, and with two games at the Riverside coming up over the Christmas period, this is where Boro need to continue this form.

Tony Pulis is splitting fans’ opinions at the minute, but this supporter feels like more people should get behind the Welshman, and give him the transfer window to try to turn things around.

Middlesbrough move up to fourth in the table after the victory, and face Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day.
