“Would be some loan signing”, “Brilliant”- Sheffield United fans react to Kieran Dowell links

Sheffield United are close to signing Everton midfielder Kieran Dowell, as reported by The72 earlier today.

The Blades are not expected to spend big money in January but are hopeful of getting some loan deals done to help bolster their promotion chasing squad.

Dowell, who is 21-years-old, will leave Everton on loan this winter to gain some more first-team experience in the Championship. He has only played twice this season in the EFL Cup but is yet to play for the senior side.

Dowell spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest in the Championship and impressed for them. He played 43 times for the Reds in all competitions, scoring 10 goals.

The midfielder has also made 11 caps for the England U21s having previously represented the Three Lions at U16, U17, U18 and U20 levels in the past.

Sheffield United are currently 5th in the league and the signing of Dowell will certainly give them more quality going forward. The Yorkshire side are also hoping to bring in a striker next month. AFC Bournemouth striker and ex-England international Jermaine Defoe has also been linked over recent weeks.
