Derby County, Derby County defender set to return from Aberdeen

Derby County defender set to return from Aberdeen

Max Lowe will return to Derby County in January from his loan at Aberdeen, as per a report by The Scotsman.

The Scottish Premier League side were keen to extend his short-term loan until the end of the season but Derby have decided they want him back.

Lowe, who is 21 years-old, has impressed for Aberdeen so far in this campaign and is enjoying getting regular first-team action. He has played 18 games in all competitions for the Dons, chipping with one goal.

The Dons’ boss, Derek McInnes, has said: “Unfortunately Derby want Max back next month which is a blow as he’s been brilliant for us”.

The promising left-back will return to Pride Park in the first week of January and will become available for selection for Frank Lampard’s promotion chasing side.

Lowe joined Derby as a youngster and rose through the youth ranks at Pride Park. He made his senior debut for the Rams in August 2016 in a League Cup game against Carlisle United and has since made 14 appearances.

He spent last season on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town and was part of Paul Hurst’s side who got to the Play-Off final. Being out on loan has been good for Lowe as he has gained more experience to help him progress.

Lowe will now be hoping to force his way into Lampard’s plans for Derby’s starting eleven.
