Leeds United and Middlesbrough in chase for £5m rated Huddersfield Town winger

Leeds United and Middlesbrough are in a chase to sign Huddersfield Town’s Rajiv Van La Parra according to a report from The Sun.

The 27-year-old winger, who was capped six times by the Netherlands U21s, initially signed for Huddersfield on loan from Wolves back in 2016 before making that deal permanent in the summer. In his first full season with the Terriers, he helped lead them to promotion to the Premier League and had been a key player in their first season in the top flight. However, in recent times, he has struggled for first-team action and has not started since the start of October.

This has led teams to think he could be available in the January transfer window with both Leeds and Middlesbrough in the chase to sign him. While Leeds have signed a lot of players this season, they have been hit with injuries a lot and signed more recruits would help them to keep momentum as they look to finally return to Premier League. Middlesbrough, on the other hand, are looking for players who would be able to at least secure them a place in the play-offs and perhaps push them to an automatic spot.

Both teams would have to spend a pretty penny to land van La Parra though as despite his lack of appearances, Huddersfield value him at £5m. This may put off both teams but if they believe that this man will help them to the Premier League, they may be willing to pay the steep sum.
