Agents told to expect these Leeds United signings in the January transfer window

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United will only be bringing in a goalkeeper in on a permanent basis in the January transfer window. Any outfield arrivals at Elland Road will only be coming in on a temporary basis as Marcelo Bielsa looks to strengthen his squad for their promotion push.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Leeds United have told agents that they will only be pursuing loan deals for outfield players, but are determined to bring in a goalkeeper on a permanent basis.

United fans have been looking forward to the January transfer window, after Marcelo Bielsa has been struggling with injury problems throughout the first half of the season. Youngsters Will Huffer, Jack Clarke, Aapo Halme and Jamie Shackleton have all made their way into the first team in occasions where Bielsa has had no senior options available.

Bielsa’s main target for the transfer window is to bring in some reinforcement for the goalkeeper department. Leeds United’s ‘keeper search has been going on for some time now and it seems that Marcelo Bielsa has got his eyes set on Newcastle United’s Championship winning goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

After loanee Jamal Blackman broke his leg in an Under-23s game, Marcelo Bielsa has had to use academy ‘keepers for his matchday squad, with youngster Will Huffer starting against Bristol City in the absence of both Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Jamal Blackman.

The Toon have reportedly named their price tag at £4 million for the 28-year-old.

As far as outfield signings are concerned, United have most recently been linked with a loan move for West Ham United attacker Marcus Browne after star man Samu Saiz sealed a return to Spain with Getafe. The Whites are just one club amongst many interested in Browne, with Sheffield United, Stoke City, Derby County, West Brom and Bristol City all reportedly interested as well.
