League One and League Two sides keen on Blackburn Rovers’ in form striker

Blackburn Rovers striker Joe Nuttall has found first team chances hard to come by in the Championship this season, but his performances for the reserves team are catching the eyes of sides from League One and League Two.

The Lancashire Telegraph are reporting that a host of clubs from League One and League Two are keen to bring in Blackburn Rovers striker Joe Nuttall on loan until the end of the season.

League One side Accrington Stanley are believed to be one of many sides eyeing up Joe Nuttall ahead of the January transfer window, after his performances for Rovers Under-23’s side have been impressing suitors.

As Nuttall was struggling to get into the Rovers team and Under-23s, manager Tony Mowbray issued some encouragement for the striker after coming back from an injury. The former Aberdeen striker has made four appearances in the Championship so far this season, also playing twice in EFL Cup.

“Joe Nuttall has had a few opportunities,” Mowbray said to the Lancashire Telegraph.

“I have had a few chats with Joe, I think he has dropped off a bit from the hungry monster that arrived and scored with virtually every kick he had.

“That’s not quite where he’s at, he needs to rediscover that hunger and prove he can be a first team player on a regular basis.”

Since then, the 21-year-old has been in impressive form for the reserves side. Nuttall has scored goals against West Ham, Doncaster Rovers, Swansea and Arsenal in the Premier League 2 in the past weeks.
