Birmingham City

Out of favour Birmingham City striker leaves the club

The Danish striker saw his loan at St Mirren cut short earlier this season when the Scottish Premier League side sent him back.

The 26-year-old had fallen down the pecking order at Birmingham, hence why they loaned him to St Mirren in the summer. However, he failed to find the net in five appearances.

Brock-Madsen signed for the Blues in August 2015 for an initial fee of £500,000 from Randers FC. He had started his career at Danish side Randers and had scored 19 goals for them in 108 games altogether as a youngster.

He had found it tough to hit the ground running in the Championship and played only 8 times for Birmingham in his first season at the club and didn’t score.

Brock-Madsen was shipped out on loan to Dutch Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle for the 2016/17 and bagged 10 goals for them in 25 games, which made many Blues’ fans think he could still have a future at the club on his return. However, he was not part of either Harry Redknapp or Steve Cotterill’s plans and was frozen out last season before being loaned out to Polish outfit Cracovia in January.

He scored once in 11 games for Cracovia in the latter half of the last campaign. Brock-Madsen will now have to weigh up his options this January and he is now a free agent.
