Nottingham Forest have confirmed that they will not be looking to cash-in on highly-rated teenage winger Arvin Appiah during next month’s transfer window according to Nottingham Live.

The72 reported this morning that The Sun newspaper had hinted that the player could be sold providing that Forest receive a transfer fee in excess of £6 million, however, sources at the Sky Bet Championship club are now said to have rubbished those reports.

The 17-year-old England youth international star is one of the brightest young talents to come out of The Reds academy in recent seasons and Forest are expected to fight to keep hold of the winger despite Appiah being set to attract several admirers.

Forest boss Aitor Karanka handed Appiah his senior debut for the club as a late substitute in the club’s 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Burton Albion at The Pirelli Stadium back in October. The teenager came on in the 85th minute and netted a debut goal for The Reds as they crashed out of the competition at the fourth round stage.

Appiah has been a regular for the Nottingham Forest Development Squad this season. The player netted a brace for The Reds as they beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 in a Professional Development League fixture at The City Ground last month. Should the winger continue to impress at Under-23 level, further first team appearances will not be far away.
