Championship promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for promising attacker Arvin Appiah, but only for £6 million.
The Sun Newspaper reported on Sunday morning that Nottingham Forest are willing to listen to offers for exciting youngster Arvin Appiah. However, it will take upwards of a £6 million fee to prize him away from the City Ground.
Appiah – despite showing serious promise – has only made on substitute appearance for Nottingham Forest this season. The 17-year-old made a six minute cameo against Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup, scoring a late consolation in the 91st minute as Karanka’s side were defeated 3-2.
Appiah has only made the Nottingham Forest match day squad for one Championship game this season, coming into the squad for their 1-0 loss to Preston North End last week.
It is thought that the youngster’s performances in the Forest youth set up are catching the eye of suitors, and The Reds are looking to cash in.
The winger has represented England at three different youth levels, playing for the Under-16s, Under-17s, and Under-18s. Appiah has played four times for the Under-16s, scoring once, eight times for the Under-17s, scoring once and a further eight games for the Under-18s, where he has scored four goals.
With around £7 million set to come in from Blackburn Rovers for striker Ben Brereton, Forest could be selling on young players to fund their January spending. Karanka refurbished his squad in the Summer, but is looking to bring in some reinforcements to help Forest in their promotion bid.
