When his capture was first announced, Leeds United fans were a little nonplussed, Samu Who? His opening few games for the Whites gave a worthy answer to that question.

In news just emerging, and reported via Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post, it appears that Leeds United and talented forward Samu Saiz could be about to part ways.

Saiz, who on his day is unplayable, is, according to Hay, “unsettled in England” and has been “looking at the option of resuming his career in Spain since the summer.”

Madrid-born Saiz, who’d been on the books at Aletico, was a summer 2017 signing from Spanish side Huesca, arriving at Elland Road for a fee thought to be £3m.

Last season he scored five goals in the Championship and provided eight assists, but also demonstrated signs of inconsistency when his head dropped and his morale was flagging.

This season, the Spanish wizard set off ablaze and his sparkling prowess and potential was prominent as Leeds hit their stride early. Yet, and despite three assists so far, form has deserted him and Saiz has found himself more on the bench than on the pitch.

His English adventure, though, seems to be coming to an end, with reports that La Liga side Getafe are interested in taking him back to Spain.
