When giant Swede Pontus Jansson signed for Leeds United, there was an instant connection with the fans on the terraces.

Hints at an ‘international’ arrival were initially scoffed at, even more so when it was revealed that he was heading to the Whites from Serie A side Torino on loan. There were some happily ready to dismiss Jansson as another reject from the Italian leagues.

His first taste of action was in a narrow 1-0 defeat  against Huddersfield Town at Elland Road. However, alongside Kyle Bartley, Jansson formed a solid partnership. It was a partnership that was at the core of the Whites rise up the table to the play-offs – a place they occupied for 142 days and 26 games before falling away.

This season, Jansson has overcome injury issues to become a focal point and pivot of Bielsa’s resurgent Leeds United outfit. Playing well, the Swede still has time to lay down some love for fellow White Pablo Hernandez. What love it is as well:

Bromance? Manlove? Whatever it is that you want to call it, it’s all there. Of course, Pontus is damn right in his admiration for the silkiness that is Pablo Hernandez. Hoever, he’s going to have to get into a long line behind a multitude of Leeds United fans who are rightly drooling over just what Pablo is morphing into this campaign.

Here’s what some of them have said of Pontus’ Pablo praise.
