Burton Albion will be looking to return to winning ways in Sky Bet League One when Shrewsbury Town are the visitors to the Pirelli Stadium this afternoon.
The Brewers have lost their last two league matches against Charlton Athletic and Blackpool and Nigel Clough’s side will be keen to rediscover the winning habit to keep their slim hopes of a top six finish alive.
The home side go into the match without at least four senior players. Defender Ben Turner, midfielders Ben Fox and David Templeton and forward Marvin Sordell are all expected to be sidelined for The Brewers as they aim to leapfrog opponents Shrewsbury Town in the league table.
The visitors arrive at the Pirelli Stadium on the back of three consecutive victories in all competitions. Shrewsbury Town defeated Plymouth Argyle 2-0 in their last league outing while they have since beaten Scunthorpe United in the Emirates FA Cup and Walsall in the Checkatrade Trophy.
New Shrews boss Sam Ricketts will take charge of the club in the league for the first time this afternoon. The 37-year-old was appointed Shrewsbury Town manager in midweek, moving from National League promotion-chasers Wrexham.
The Shropshire outfit will be without midfielder Ollie Norburn against Burton Albion with the player not yet fit enough to make his first team return. Shaun Whalley could be considered for a start after playing against Walsall in midweek.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3pm with tickets available on the gate for both sets of supporters.
