Three lower league managers who Reading go for to replace Paul Clement

Earlier today we looked at five potential candidates to replace Paul Clement at Reading.

The Royals have parted company with the 44-year-old after a poor start to the season. Here are three lower league managers who they could go for-

Danny Cowley, Lincoln City- He has worked wonders with the Imps since taking charge of them in May 2016. The former Concord Rangers and Braintree Town boss guided them to promotion to the Football League in his first season in charge as well as taking them to the FA Cup quarter-final. Cowley then took his Lincoln side to Wembley last season for the Checkatrade Trophy final and they are now on course for a promotion to League One.

Nathan Jones, Luton Town- The 45-year-old has done an impressive job with Luton. He guided the Hatters to promotion to League One last season and his side have adapted well to life in the third tier. Jones, who has previously worked as a coach at Brighton and Hove Albion, is being tipped for a big future in management and should be considered by Reading.

Gareth Ainsworth, Wycombe Wanderers- The likable boss deserves to be linked with jobs at bigger sides. Ainsworth has done very well with Wycombe on a small budget in his eight years in charge so far. He got the Chairboys to League One last season after they finished 3rd in League One. Ainsworth is an attack minded coach who would suit Reading.
