Five potential candidates to replace Paul Clement at Reading

Reading have sacked Paul Clement after a poor start to the season. Here are five potential candidates to replace him-

Graeme Murty- He has emerged as an early candidate for the vacant position. The 44 year-old played just under 350 games for Reading as a player. He has managed Rangers’ first-team since retiring and is currently working as their reserves manager now.

Steve Bruce- The experienced boss is available after being sacked by Aston Villa earlier this season. The former Birmingham City, Sunderland and Hull City manager would be ideal for the Royals. He has won promotion to the Premier League on four occasions.

Slavisa Jokanovic- He is looking for a route back into the dugout after being dismissed by Fulham last month. He guided the Cottagers to promotion to the Premier League last season and has also previously managed Partizan, Hercules, Watford and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Phil Parkinson- The current Bolton Wanderers boss is being linked with the job. He played 361 games for Reading in his playing days and spent eleven seasons there. He was very popular amongst the Reading fans. Parkinson has gone onto manage Colchester United, Hull City, Charlton Athletic, Bradford City and now Bolton.

Mark Warburton- He is another candidate. The 56-year-old, formerly of Brentford and Rangers, has been in the hunt for a new job since he was sacked by Championship side Nottingham Forest in December last year.

Here is how the Reading fans reacted on Twitter to Paul Clement’s sacking this morning, as reported by The72.
