Five things we learned from Hull City’s 3-2 win over QPR

Hull City have climbed out of the bottom three in the Championship after beating QPR 3-2 at Loftus Road yesterday. Here are five things we learned from the game-

1. David Marshall is pivotal for the Tigers- The Scotland international has had his critics during his time at Hull but he proved yesterday why he has established himself as Nigel Adkins’ number one with a spring of impressive saves to deny the hosts.

2. Jarrod Bowen has a big future ahead of him- The 21 year-old is one of the most underrated players in the Championship. His brace yesterday has now taken his tally to 21 goals altogether in the black and amber since making his debut in August 2016.

3. Always a threat going forward- Hull possess a real attacking threat with the likes of Bowen, Kamil Grosicki, Fraizer Campbell and Jackson Irvine, who can all cause problems on their day. Going forward is not a worry for the Tigers.

4. Still some defensive frailties- Yesterday was still another two goals conceded which show the defence still needs work. QPR could have snatched a point if Luke Freeman’s free-kick at the death had gone in after the former Bristol City man got the Hoops back into the game with a scrappy goal in injury time.

5. The Tigers are on the right path- If Hull play like that every week they will be safe from relegation and will climb up the league. The win yesterday means Adkins’ side have lost just once in six games so have started to pick up some much needed points ahead of the festive period.
