Bolton Wanderers defender set for Salford City loan

Bolton Wanderers defender Harry Brockbank is set to join Salford City on loan, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

The 20-year-old missed out on a loan move to Darlington a couple of months ago so will be looking forward to gaining some first-team experience at Salford.

Brockbank has risen up through the youth ranks with the Trotters and is being tipped for a big future at the University of Bolton Stadium.

The Bolton-born centre-back will make the short move to Salford and will be hoping to help their promotion push to the Football League this season.

The Ammies are currently 2nd in the National League after an impressive start to the season. They are just a point behind Leyton Orient at the top. Their manager is former Fleetwood Town and Scunthorpe United boss Graham Alexander.

Salford have delved into the Football League for signings in this campaign as they look to show their ambition. The have signed Chris Neal from Fleetwood, Danny Lloyd from Peterborough United, Danny Whitehead from Macclesfield Town and Rory Gaffney from Bristol Rovers over the past six months.

They have also already loaned midfielder Dennis Politic from Bolton already this season as they target his teammate Brockbank now.

The Trotters will be hoping they both get plenty of first-team experience at Salford for the remainder of this season and can play a big part in the future of Phil Parkinson’s side.
