Five things we learned from Hull City’s draw with Norwich City

Hull City drew 0-0 against top of the table Norwich City last night at the KCOM Stadium. Here are five things we learned from the game-

1. Fresh start for Kevin Stewart? It is safe to say he has not had the best of starts to life in the black and amber stripes but the former Liverpool man impressed yesterday. He played well alongside Markus Henriksen in the middle and will be looking to nail down a regular starting position from now on.

2. Dropping Jordy de Wijs was a good call- The Dutch defender has made some big mistakes over recent games against Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest so Nigel Adkins was right to sit him out last night.

3. Defensively strong- Norwich are the in-form team in the Championship. They had won their past six games and scored four goals in each of their previous three games prior to yesterday’s fixture. Therefore, holding them to a 0-0 was a good result for the Tigers. The partnership of Tommy Elphick and Reece Burke in the centre of defence should stay the same for the trip to QPR on Saturday.

4. The commitment was there- It could have been easy for Hull to roll over for Norwich but they stuck to their game plan and every player put in 100%, which is needed when you are down at the bottom.

5. Need January signings- The lack of squad depth was plain to see. The Tigers could do with a few acquisitions in January to add more quality to their ranks and help as cover for injuries and suspensions, otherwise the squad could be very thin in games.

Here is how the Hull City fans reacted on Twitter to their draw with the Canaries, as reported by The72 earlier.
