According to Turkish site Milliyet, Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas are keen to take Portuguese striker Nelson Oliveira away from Norwich City in the January transfer window.
Norwich City have made a brilliant start to the Championship season, storming to the top of the table and are currently on a six game winning streak in the league. The form of summer signing Teemu Pukki has helped The Canaries drum up 32 goals in 18 Championship games.
The form of Finland striker Pukki has left Nelson Oliveira well and truly out of the picture under Daniel Farke. The attacker hasn’t made a single senior appearance this season, with Pukki, Jordan Rhodes and Dennis Srbeny ahead of him at Carrow Road.
With Oliveira nowhere near the first team but still taking a large wage out of the pocket of the club, the East Anglian side are looking to move him in in the near future. The 27-year-old has been linked with moves abroad, and Turkish side Besiktas are the latest to express an interest in the striker.
It is believed that Norwich would favour a permanent deal for the striker, but are prepared to loan him away if a permanent deal can not be agreed.
The Portugal international made a decent start to life with Norwich after joining in 2016 from Swansea City. Oliveira scored 15 goals in 32 games in his first season at Carrow Road. However, since the arrival of Daniel Farke at the start of last season, the striker’s form has dipped. Oliveira scored eight times in 38 Championship appearances last campaign, seeing him fall down the pecking order in the early stages of the current season.
