Leeds United have brought in non league Hastings United midfielder Adam Lovatt on a dive day trial, the club have announced.
Highly-rated midfielder Adam Lovatt of Hastings United has joined Championship side Leeds United for a five day trial period. The Bostik League side posted the news on their club website, revealing that the trial will begin on the 3rd of December.
The club wrote on their website to inform fans of the news, and congratulate Lovatt on his trial with The Whites.
“Adam has generated a lot of interest from numerous clubs due to his consistent and improving performances during both the second half of the 2017/18 season and in this current season to date.
“Adam is a great lad and has proved a model semi-professional since signing a contract with the Club. United Manager Chris Agutter said, ‘Adam has developed both his stature and game considerably since he was promoted to the first team squad and will thoroughly deserve the chance at some point to move on into full time professional football’.
“All at the Club wish him well in his forthcoming trial and are very pleased that one of its young players has attracted the attention of a club of Leeds United’s calibre.”
The youngster made his breakthrough into the Hastings United side last season after making his way through the academy, and has continued his good performances in the early stages of this season.
However, the look set to face a fight for the midfielder, with Premier League clubs also expressing an interest in the midfielder. TeamTALK reported that trio Crystal Palace, Brighton and Hove Albion and Watford have all expressed an interest in the non league midfielder. However, it is Leeds United that have jumped to the front of the queue by offering the youngster a trial at Thorp Arch.
