Paul Lambert comments on Ipswich Town winger set to leave in January

Ipswich Town’s on loan winger Jordan Graham is set to have his loan spell at Portman Road cut short when the January transfer window opens, after a short and unsuccessful spell on loan from Premier League side Wolves.

Having arrived after the sacking of Paul Hurst, Paul Lambert has cast his eye over the squad and decided who has a future at Portman Road, and who should look elsewhere if they want to play first team football.

One player who has been told he can leave in on loan winger Jordan Graham. Graham joined Ipswich Town on loan in the summer, with the deal set to run to the end of the season. However, he is set to have his loan spell cut short.

Since the arrival of Lambert, Graham has been training with League One side Oxford United – who are hoping to snap him up once his loan spell at Championship side Ipswich Town ends,

“I can only come in see with my own eyes what I think is right and what I think is wrong and I think we’ve a squad where there’s a lot of players, young ones as well, who I think are going to make an impact sooner rather than later,” Lambert told TWTD.

“I just go with my own eye. No ill feeling towards anybody, I’ll pick what I think is right and I’ll always do that.”

In the past, Lambert has worked with Graham and they have crossed each other off the pitch. However, he chose to play down these confrontations.

“Jordan was only a young kid when I was Aston Villa when I was there and he was out injured a lot at Wolves,” he added

“He came back in the last few weeks but never a problem. I just pick a team that I think can win games and a group that I think I can mould the way I want to mould them.”

When asked if he would be letting Graham leave, Lambert added:

“Yes, likely so because we’ve a lot of players here.”

“We’ve got young players here who are coming through and they’ve got to have a chance to progress as well.”
