“Would be a great appointment”- Notts County fans react to Paul Hurst rumours

Paul Hurst is the bookies’ favourite for the Notts County job.

The League Two side are in the hunt for a new manager after sacking Harry Kewell last week after a poor run of results.

Hurst has recently been dismissed by Championship side Ipswich Town having been there for just under six months and now looks set for a swift return to management.

The 44-year-old impressed as manager of Shrewsbury Town last season and got them to the Play-Off final and the Checkatrade Trophy final as well. He was lured away from New Meadow by Ipswich at the end of May but the step up the second tier proved one too far for Hurst.

He will now be looking to prove people wrong if he moves to Notts County and he will be a decent appointment for them if they can get it over the line.

Prior to his recent spells at Shrewsbury and Ipswich, Hurst had previously managed Ilkeston Town and Boston United before joining Grimsby Town in 2011 as joint manager with Rob Scott.

Hurst guided the Mariners to promotion from the National league via the Play-Offs in 2016 as well as getting them to the FA Trophy final in the same year.

Here is how the Notts County fans on Twitter have reacted to rumours that he could be on his way there-
