Clough to bid again for Brayford

Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough is set to make a new bid for full back John Brayford according to WalesOnline.

Brayford, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the Sheffield club, is one of Clough’s top transfer targets and is keen to retain the services of the 26 year old.

However, Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems certain to reject any offer that comes his way, and is quoted as saying,

“John will play an important part for us this season”

After letting Kevin McNaughton go out on loan to Bolton, and allowing Kevin Theophile Catherine to spend more time away from the squad following a family bereavement, Brayford will therefore be given a chance to shine for Cardiff.

Brayford has so far made just the 2 starts for Cardiff since his move from Derby County last season, which both occurred in the Capital One Cup. He made 20 appearances for Sheffield United whilst on loan, where he also scored twice.

Cardiff are looking to return to the Premier League straight away, and with the signings of proven Championship players such as Adam le Fondre and Kagisho Dikgacoi, Solskjaer is putting together a squad that will challenge for top spot, and is also why many bookmakers have them favourites to win the Championship.
