Frank Lampard provides injury update on Mason Mount, Martyn Waghorn and Craig Bryson

Frank Lampard has provided updates on Derby County trio Mason Mount, Martyn Waghorn and Craig Bryson, after they all picked up knocks over the past few weeks.

Key trio Mason Mount, Martyn Waghorn and Craig Bryson have all played a big part in Derby County’s rise into the Championship Play-Offs under Frank Lampard this season.

Waghorn and Bryson look set to both return to the match day squad once the international break has come to an end, but playmaker Mason Mount – who was not called up to the England squad for their games against the United States and Croatia – could be out for a little longer.

“Martyn Waghorn has been training a lot with the physios and I believe he will be training with us from the start of the week,” Lampard told the Derby Telegraph.

“Craig Bryson is the same, although he has been out of action a bit longer, obviously.

“Mason Mount is probably one or two steps behind that, but we are hopeful to have them training with us by the middle of next week.”

Left back Craig Forsyth – who currently holds the most assists out of any Championship left back – and attacker Mason Bennett – the academy graduate who has made his way into the first team – were ruled out for long spells on the sidelines, so the news that key trio Bryson, Mount and Waghorn are all either back in training or close to returning.

“That’s the good news coming off the bad news.

“So let’s hope that follows through and they are available for the difficult games we’ve got coming up.”
