Sky Bet League Two club Bury will be looking to build on their recent solid league form when they take on National League strugglers Dover Athletic in an Emirates FA Cup first round tie at the Energy Check Stadium at Gigg Lane this afternoon.
The Shakers have lost just once in their last eight outings in the league while they were 4-1 winners at Macclesfield Town last time out.
This afternoon sees The National League’s bottom club Dover Athletic make the long trip to Lancashire. The Whites have endured a difficult campaign which has seen them win just twice in the league but the Kent club are looking for an upturn in form after reappointing former boss Andy Hessenthaler last month.
Bury go into the match without forwards Caolan Lavery and Jermaine Beckford with the pair continuing to nurse their respective injuries. Defender Eoghan O’Connell is nearing a return following a hamstring injury but it remains to be seen whether he will be risked against Dover Athletic.
The visitors arrive at the Energy Check Stadium at Gigg Lane with a mountain to climb in The National League but they did win 2-0 against Maidenhead United at the Crabble Athletic Ground last time out.
Manager Hessenthaler will be without former New York Red Bulls youngster Tim Schmoll through injury while Lee Worgan, Bobby-Joe Taylor and Jai Reason are all ineligible to feature for The Whites. Winger Anthony Jeffrey is suspended.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3pm with admission available on the day for both sets of supporters.
