Potential Leeds United XI vs West Brom

A huge game at the Hawthorns tomorrow sees Leeds United travel to West Brom. The 1-2 win at Wigan last Sunday couldn’t have come at a better time for Marcelo Bielsa and the players who were having a slight wobble, just like West Brom and all the others up the top end of the table.

Potential XI

GK – Baily Peacock-Farrell – Jamal Blackman isn’t getting a look in due to the form of the Northern Irish international.

RB – Stuart Dallas – I thought Dallas had a very good game at Wigan and looked much more comfortable that the previous away trip to Blackburn.

CB – Pontus Jansson – In the best form of his Leeds United career and for me that’s because he’s fully happy for the first time. Under Bielsa he gets the proper coaching and the ambition that matches his.

CB – Liam Cooper – Cooper has been questioned throughout his Leeds career and he’s currently in the most consistently good form in in his four-year spell. Needs to stick to his man and allow Jansson to attack the ball. Gayle and Rodriguez potentially up against Jansson and Cooper.

LB Barry Douglas – What a difference Douglas made to the team on Sunday. You wouldn’t think a left-back could make such an impact but he does.

DM – Kalvin Phillips – During tomorrow we are likely to see him play in a couple of roles depending on how the game is going. He may well start in central midfield if West Brom start with two up front.

CM – Adam Forshaw – Has looked better in that role than the defensive one he played last season. Such a clever player and finds pockets of space to get on the ball.

CAM – Mateusz Klich – The key at the moment, the runs, the intelligence and the ability to win a game, get him on the ball and see what he can conjure up.

RW – Pablo Hernandez – With Klich and Phillips he is up there with the ones who make us tick in different areas. Hernandez coming in from the right is in what he describes as arguably the best form of his career.

LW – Gjanni Alioksi – Personally I think he needs to be doing more but Bielsa sticks with him and we’re top of the league for a reason.

ST – Kemar Roofe – Back and three goals in three games. Adds something that we missed when Tyler Roberts was in the starting position up front and will want to get another tomorrow.
