Wigan Athletic have launched a bid for Adam Forshaw which Brentford have rejected.

The midfielder won League 1 player of the season last year and it wasn’t hard to see why after his commitment and class in midfield shone through to which Wigan clearly were impressed after seeing him.

With Forshaw only being 22, he has plenty of time to grow as a player and although he already is very talented has much to learn.

The step up to the Championship with the Bees is a big one and if Brentford are to stake a claim in this league they will need all the quality they can get. With a midfield four of Odubajo, Forshaw, Pritchard and Judge, their midfield really looks to be a class outlet and Brentford fans will be desperate to have that line-up come August the 9th at home to Charlton.

Uwe Rosler the ex-Brentford manager will be keen to persuade Forshaw to join up with him again at the DW but will have to be very convincing and offer a sizable deal to his former employers.
