Leeds came from behind to win at Wigan today in a game that was crucial for the away side. The clubs at the top of the league are dropping points and Leeds have been guilty of that in recent times. The win over Ipswich was followed by a point against Nottingham Forest and today’s three points mean Bielsa sees the side back on top of the pile for the time being.

Player Ratings

Baily Peacock-Farrell – 7 – Could do nothing about the goal and was steady throughout.

Stuart Dallas – 7 – Steady and looks set to be there for a while with Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi both out.

Pontus Jansson – 8 – Solid today and seemed to enjoy the afternoon. Will be keen to keep this form up and has been vocal on Twitter about the team spirit after today’s win. Seems to be very focused under Marcelo Bielsa.

Liam Cooper – 7 – Joe Garner is a nightmare to play against. Will never fulfil his potential because quite simply he focuses on causing trouble rather than playing football. Cooper dealt with him well in the main. Harder than it may look.

Barry Douglas – 8 – What a difference the left-back made today. Stayed wide and always an option for players looking to get the ball wide. His pass for the first goal into Mateusz Klich was quite brilliant, and always looked like he could create an opening.

Kalvin Phillips – 8 – Seems to be getting stronger and stronger as the weeks go on. His range of passing is brilliant and he’s showing it off, his movement to create space is hugely important and most of the time it’s hard to work out whether he’s in a back three or a deep midfielder. It’s working.

Adam Forshaw – 8 – I thought he helped control the game today. He can sometimes play the ball backwards when he could look forward but he added balance to the midfield and allowed Klich to really break forward.

Mateusz Klich – 8 – The most intelligent central midfielder seen in a while. His runs are so underrated and open up the game for the other players. His run and assist for the first goal was absolutely fantastic. Such an asset to the team.

Pablo Hernandez – 9 – MOM – Really classy on the ball and played a huge part in us winning the game. A lovely finish for the first and although very lucky for Roofe to end up with the ball at his feet in the second the imagination for the pass was lovely.

Gjanni Alioski – 5 – I honestly don’t get him at all at the moment. Constantly giving fouls away and getting caught offside. Yes his workrate is unbelievable but as a creative player it’s not enough for me.

Kemar Roofe – 8 – That’s three goals in three starts since his injury. It’s happening for him this season.

Jamie Shackleton – N/A
