English Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City are thought to be watching Sunderland teenager Bali Mumba according to reports by The Sun.

The 17-year-old England youth international is one of the brightest young prospects to come out of the Sunderland academy in recent seasons and has already been given a handful of opportunities playing in the first team.

It has been reported that Mumba’s talent is not going unnoticed and English Premier League heavyweights Chelsea and Manchester City are believed to have sent scouts to watch the youngster in action.

The good news for The Black Cats is that Mumba has signed professional terms on Wearside earlier this year and will therefore command a sizeable transfer fee should Sunderland consider the sale of the midfielder.

After starring for the Sunderland Under-23s, Mumba made his senior debut for The Black Cats in the 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at The Stadium of Light on the final day of last season. The player has since gone on to add a further four first team outings to his tally this term.

Mumba is also making his mark for his country with the player having represented England at various youth levels up to Under-18 level.
