Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny is being linked with a surprise move to Sky Bet Championship club Aston Villa according to reports from Birmingham Live.
The 33-year-old French international defender is out of favour at The Emirates Stadium under new Gunners boss Unai Emery and his future in North London is currently in the air.
Media reports are suggesting that Koscielny could make a shock move to ambitious Sky Bet Championship club Aston Villa. The Midlands club are keen to secure a long-awaited return to the English Premier League but are short of defensive options.
Villa have kept just one clean sheet in their last seven fixtures in the Sky Bet Championship and are particularly short of competition for places in the centre-half position.
Veteran defender James Collins is currently training with Villa with a view to earning himself a deal at Villa Park but it may be that new boss Dean Smith could turn to Arsenal ace Koscielny to help bolster his side’s defensive options.
The veteran defender has spent almost eight-and-a-half years at Arsenal in which he has made 324 appearances while he has netted 24 goals.
Koscielny has won two FA Cup’s with The Gunners while he has also been on the winning side in two FA Community Shields.
