Blackpool travel to The Emirates tonight to face Arsenal in the Carabao Cup Round of 16.
The Seasiders have already seen off Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers and QPR so far in this competition and are dreaming of making the quarter-final.
Disaster struck for Blackpool at the start of this season after Gary Bowyer resigned after just a game but the appointment of Terry McPhillips as his replacement has turned out to be a masterstroke. The Tangerines had won ten in 11 games in all competitions prior to their defeat to Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
McPhillips, who was formerly Bowyer’s assistant at Bloomfield Road, has said ahead tonight’s trip to Arsenal “It’s a really mouthwatering game. The lads are buzzing. We will go down there and give it our best shot”.
He later added “If we can play like we have been playing in this tournament, then we might have half a chance.”
Arsenal- Petr Cech is set to start between the sticks for the Gunners, who will be without Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasonic. Hector Bellerin is also expected to sit out due to a muscle problem. Unai Emery is likely to make numerous changes to his side.
Blackpool- The League One side will be without defender Donervan Daniels, who has a hamstring injury, and striker Armand Gnanduillet due to suspension after he was sent off last time out against Fleetwood.
Arsenal 3 Blackpool 0- The visitors are in good form and will be in confident mood based on their recent form. However, the Gunners will have too much for them in the end.
