Paul Lambert will reportedly be given money to bolster his newly inherited Ipswich Town squad in January. Here are five players he could sign-
Korney Hause, Wolves- The 23-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Wolves in the Premier League and is likely to be available. Lambert managed him during his spell at Molinuex and Hause played regularly under him.
Nathan Baker, Bristol City- Ipswich need to stop leaking goals so Baker would be ideal to help tighten up their backline. Lambert knows him well from their time at Aston Villa together. The 27-year-old, now at Bristol City, has played over 200 games so far in his career.
Darren Bent- The free agent striker has been linked with a return to Ipswich over recent weeks. He played under Lambert at Aston Villa so rumours could start to circulate again now. The 34-year-old is currently a free agent so could he now return to where it all started for him? Bent would certainly offer Ipswich some more experience in the final third.
Daniel Johnson, Preston North End- Another player who Lambert will know all about from when he was a youngster at Aston Villa. Ipswich will have money to spend and Johnson would be another potential shrewd signing. He has bags of experience in the Championship now and has genuine quality at this level.
Anthony Pilkington, Cardiff City- He was a key player for Lambert at Norwich City. Pilkington’s game time is limited with the Bluebirds in the Premier League and Lambert should try and reunite with him at Portman Road in January.
