Peterborough United fans have been left overjoyed by yesterday’s 2-1 victory over Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium. The Posh were followed by 1,000 fans to Burton upon Trent.
The win takes The Posh within two points of League leaders Portsmouth, picking up their seventh away win out of seven this season. Goals from wingers Joe Ward and Siriki Dembele put posh 2-0 up, before Burton Albion midfielder Jamie Allen fired in shortly after to make the score 2-1.
Striker Matty Godden came back into the lineup – dropping playmaker Jamie Walker to the bench – and left-back Tyler Denton came in for the suspended Colin Daniel to make his first League start for The Posh.
Fans hailed a total team performance from Steve Evans’ side, but also signled out the performances of goalscoring wingers Siriki Dembele and Joe Ward for their attacking work, as well as their defensive contributions throughout.
Loaned in Leeds United youngster Tyler Denton also put in an impressive performance in his first League start. The defender has come under criticism in his few games for The Posh, featuring in disappointing cup performances against MK Dons and Queens Park Rangers.
Posh fans had their say on another away win on Twitter, over the moon as they took all three points back to London Road.
His work rate was what was getting him into the team, but now he’s added genuine quality. Credit also must go to Evans for how he’s developed him in short time he’s been here. #pufc

Forgot to comment after Posh’s game today, but another accomplished away win much like Scunthorpe of weeks past – slightly more nervy than it had to be but can’t complain at the outcome. Defence excellent under severe pressure #pufc
