PREVIEW: Queens Park Rangers v Aston Villa

Queens Park Rangers will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to five matches when they take on Aston Villa at Loftus Road this evening.

The R’s are enjoying a near-perfect October with just a 1-1 home draw with Derby County preventing them from collecting maximum points from their four matches to date.

Tonight, QPR take on an Aston Villa side who are now managed by Dean Smith, former boss of The R’s West London rivals Brentford.

The home side go into the match with no new injury concerns following the 3-0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday in midweek and manager Steve McClaren is likely to name and unchanged starting XI. The R’s continue to be without defender Darnell Furlong and Olamide Shodipo with both players currently recovering from injury problems.

Aston Villa manager Smith has a couple of potential injury headaches to contend with ahead of his side’s trip to West London. Winger Albert Adomah has a knee problem while striker Tammy Abraham is recovering from a head injury and both players are expected to be assessed this morning.

Midfielder John McGinn has made a real impact since his arrival at Villa Park from Hibernian in the summer but will miss out on facing QPR through suspension.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm and will be screened live on Sky Sports Football.
