Peterborough United announced this morning that young goalkeeper Josh Tibbetts has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
Peterborough United signed Josh Tibbetts from Championship side Birmingham City last Summer, but has departed the club this morning without making a single senior appearance for The Posh.
The 20-year-old spent most of last season on loan at local side Royston Town. He joined National League side Solihull Moors on loan at the start of the 2018/19 campaign, but hasn’t made a single appearance for The Moors.
The youngster posted on his Twitter that he made the decision to leave the League One side to further his career, as well as thanking former manager Grant McCann – who bought him from Birmingham City last Summer.

The departure of Tibbetts leaves The Posh with three goalkeepers. Aaron Chapman, Conor O’Malley and veteran goalkeeper coach Mark Tyler are all available for selection. Chapman and O’Malley are the first choice keepers, while Tyler makes the bench to follow the EFL’s homegrown rule.
However, Evans has said he wouldn’t be worried if veteran Tyler had to step in goal.
“I’d have no problem throwing Mark into a game as a substitute,” Evans told the Peterborough Telegraph.
“He still looks very sharp and fit in training.”
