Blackpool set to add Cubero

Blackpool are close to signing Costa Rican international Jose Miguel Cubero as they look set to bolster their ailing squad, according to the Blackpool Gazette.

The 27-year-old is understood to have agreed terms with the Seasiders and will fly in for a medical sometime this week. Cubero played four times during the Central American’s terrific World Cup and has been one of Tangerine manager Jose Riga’s top targets.

The club are also in talks with former players Peter Clarke and Nathan Delfouneso after both are available on a free transfer. Former captain Clarke linked up with the club on Friday having failing to agree a deal with Doncaster and Delfouneso is in talks with the club after leaving Aston Villa earlier in the summer.

Former loanee Jack Robinson is also open to a move back to Blackpool and the left-back could be available for another loan deal. He said: “The Championship has given me a lot of experience, it makes you grow up more. I’ve been working hard in training, so it’s up to Brendan Rodgers to decide.
